WELCOME TO OAKWOOD MARINA & GLAMPING
Canal Moorings in Cheshire

Canal Moorings in Cheshire

Oakwood Marina is a family business venture. Our initial development, to provide 90 canal boat moorings, opened on 11th August 2018.

Our tea room is open for boaters and those who just like to get out into the countryside. Take your dog for a walk in the fields or just sit and watch the boats drift-by.

Our site is set in a beautiful tranquil rural location & now offers the chance for you to stay with us in one of our beautifully fully furnished bell tents.

The project is part funded by The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Developments.  The Project name is Marina Development - Phase 3.

Treasured Experiences

Our location is well positioned, on the Trent & Mersey Canal, to maximise the choice of canal cruising routes in the North West.

Convenient base for cruising the circular routes of the Cheshire Ring and Four Counties Ring or for cruising there and back to Llangollen or Chester or maybe dropping onto the River Weaver, via the famous Anderton Boat lift, situated just across town (Northwich).

Around & About

The nearby town of Northwich was famous historically for its Salt Industry (with current salt museum), being the birthplace of ICI with Its legacy of public buildings, it's unique timber framed buildings, railway viaducts, historic swing bridges and Anderton Boat Lift. The town of Northwich has been rejuvenated, with a large retail development and cinema, following the stabilisation of historically abandoned and unstable salt mines which has allowed the original shopping area to be extended.

The village of Rudheath is approx. 1.5 miles along the towpath to the North. Facilities include the Broken Cross PH, Spar, Co-op, chip shop, newsagent and off-license. The village has a Community Centre, pre school nursery, primary school and secondary school. The villages of Davenham and Lach Dennis are approx. 2 miles to the West and East.
